Background and Objective: T3 resin uptake test indicates the availability of thyroxin binding globulin (TBG), which is the carrier of a large amount of T3 and T4 in blood. We aimed to study the relationship between serum T3 Resin uptake and serum lipids profile.Material and Methods: The participants aged 14.80±38.29 were both males (59; 29.5%) and females (141; 70.5 %). T3 Resin uptake was measured by Immunoassay method and serum lipid profile components (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL-C, LDL-C, and VLDL) were measured by the kit. Results: Significant negative correlation was observed between serum T3 Resin uptake and cholesterol, triglycerides and LDL-C (P£0.05), but that was not the case for HDL-C and VLDL.Conclusion: Serum T3 Resin uptake can be evaluated to assess the risk factors related to cardiovascular disorders.

Purpose: The application of natural organic compounds without harmful environmental effects in the production of horticultural and agricultural products is considered as a new method to reduce waste before and after harvesting, increase the storage life and maintain antioxidant activity in developed agriculture. As regards, this study investigated the impact of Foliar applications of brown macroalga extract on antioxidant enzyme activity and mineral uptake in 'Hayward' kiwifruits. Research method: Four treatment levels of brown macroalga extract (0, 1, 2, and 3 g/L) were applied at three distinct phases, occurring 110, 125, and 140 days after full bloom. Fruit samples were stored at 1±0.5°C with 95% relative humidity for 90 days, with measurements taken every 30 days. Findings: Results revealed that the 3 g/L extract treatment significantly increased the uptake of calcium (47.82 %), nitrogen (20.52 %), potassium (12.06 %), phosphorus (19.81 %), and iron (25.77 %) compared to the control. The extract demonstrated a substantial effect on all recorded traits. Among the applied treatments, 3 g/L of brown macroalga extract concentration had the best effect in reducing electrolyte leakage (25.10%), malondialdehyde accumulation (96.73%), hydrogen peroxide content (54.54%) and increasing activities of antioxidant enzymes including superoxide dismutase (50.42%), catalase (84.90%), ascorbate peroxidase (79.02%), and peroxidase (49.40%) compared to the control in 90 days of storage. Research limitations: No limitations were found. Originality/Value: The results suggest that the 3 g/L brown macroalga extract concentration holds promise for enhancing the quality of 'Hayward' kiwifruits.

Abstract:

In order to study the effects of phosphate and sulfur solubilizating microorganisms and zinc Foliar application on yield, oil and protein percentage and nutrients uptake in soybean (Glycine max L.) cultivar TMS, a field experiment was conducted in summer 2010 in Aleshtar, Lorestan, Iran on a calcareous clay loam soil. The treatments were arranged in a factorial design based on randomized complete blocks design (RCBD) with 3 replications. The treatments included: 1- inoculation with Pseudomonas fluarescens, 2- inoculation with Thiobacillus thiooxidanc, 3- inoculation with Pseudomonas fluarescens + inoculation with Thiobacillus thiooxidanc, 4- zinc Foliar application, 5- inoculation with Pseudomonas fluarescens + zinc Foliar application, 6– inoculation with Thiobacillus thiooxidanc + zinc Foliar application, 7– inoculation with Pseudomonas fluarescens + inoculation with Thiobacillus thiooxidanc + zinc Foliar application and 8– no treatment . The results of comparison showed the highest grain yield with 4133.2 kg per hectare obtained in T3 (Pseudomonas fluarescens + Thiobacillus thiooxidanc) and the highest oil percentage with 21.26% obtained in T7 (Pseudomonas fluarescens + Thiobacillus thiooxidanc + zinc Foliar application).

Abstract:

The soil in Iran due to having high pH, abundant lime and phosphate fertilizers application more than the necessary amount, in the past, less micronutrients uptake by root like iron, is common, which can disrupt plant photosynthetic system. Regarding to this problem a factorial experiment was conducted based on randomized complete blocks design with three replications during 2012 in Ardabil region. The first factor was iron nano oxide fertilizer at four levels including 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2 percent and normal iron oxide at 2 percent and the second factor was spraying stages (during vegetative growth, beginning of tubering stage and tuber filling). The results of variance analysis showed that the effect of different levels of iron nano oxide fertilizer was significant on tuber sodium and phosphorus content, leaf iron content and tuber yield. Also the effect of spraying stages was significant on tuber potassium content and tuber yield. Furthermore, the interaction of these factors was significant on tuber iron concentration. The effect of mentioned factors was not significant on tuber calcium content. Iron nano oxide mean comparison results indicated that the most tuber sodium and phosphorus content was acquired in control with no iron fertilizer application, the most leaf iron content was in control with common iron fertilizer application and the most tuber yield was in iron nano oxide at 2 percent. Mean comparison of spraying stages indicated that the most potassium content of tuber and tuber yield was acquired by spraying during tuber filling. Mean comparison of interaction of these factors indicated that the treatment of iron nano oxide spraying with 2 percent during tuber filling had the most tuber iron content.

Abstract:

In order to study the effect of Mn and Zn micronutrients Foliar application on quality and quantity characteristics of mung bean under water stress a field experiment was conducted at the University of Zabol in 2011-2012. The experiment was conducted in split plot design with three replications. Main plots were different levels of drought stress included: optimum irrigation, withholding irrigation in vegetative growth stage, and with holding irrigation in flowering stage. Sub plots were of four levels of micronutrients Foliar application included: no Foliar application, 3000 ppm Foliar application of zinc, 3000 ppm Foliar application of manganese, and Foliar application of zinc+manganese. The results showed that the highest plant height, No. capsule in plant, No. seed in capsule, 1000 seeds-weight and biological yield and harvest index obtained from optimum irrigation treatment. The highest grain yield was achieved from optimum irrigation treatment and Foliar application of zinc+manganese. The most amounts of carbohydrate percentage, zinc and manganese was achieved from treatments of micronutrients Foliar application. But micronutrients application led to decreasing phosphorous uptake in plant. The results showed that interaction between irrigation treatments and micronutrients Foliar significantly increased plant height, grain yield and biological yield. The highest grain yield (451 Kg ha-1) was achieved from optimum irrigation and Foliar application of zinc+manganese. It can be concluded that water stress at the flowering stage had the most effect on reducing grain yield of mung bean. Although the highest concentrations of carbohydrates and proteine were found in water stress at the vegetative growth stage, Since reduction during seeds filling period and the lack of adequate absorption of micronutrients, the effects of the drought in was more pronounced at the vegetative growth stage than water stress the flowering stage, and drought stress in this stage decreased grain yield.

Abstract:

According to identify and survaying the effect of plant Growth Promoting phyllospheric Bacteria Foliar Application on nutrient uptake of corn, this experiment was done. Therefore, leaf samples were taken from corn plants growing around karaj, Iran and total bacteria inhabiting plant surfaces were determined. Nitrogen-fixing and auxine producing bacteria were isolated from the leaves. Amount of N2-fixation and auxin production were determined by gas chromatography and spectrophotometry methods, respectively. Results showed that there were 104 to 106 bacteria on the leaves. Among 39 isolates, 10 were selected for greenhouse experiment. Bacteria suspensions were sprayed on the leaves four times in two-week intervals. Plants were harvested after 75 days and morphological indices and nutrient uptake were measured. Results showed that application of bactena increased plant height, fresh and dry matter and stem diameter compared to control plants. Spraying of bacteria affected length, volume, dry matter and surface area of the roots. Nutrient uptake was also increased due to Foliar application of the bacteria.
